Bandit is a loving pug approx. 10 years old. We were told this little guy was tossed from a car. Some good samaritans came to his rescue and said he stole their heart so they began calling him Bandit. We think the name is fitting. He is deaf or at least hard of hearing. This special pug has a curvature of the spine and hip dysplasia. He has a vet appointment coming up and we'll update his information after we find out more. He is good with other pets and children. Bandit is a great couch potato, loves to cuddle in your lap and give kisses. He's a very sweet senior citizen who deserves a special home to live out his days. 6/6/08 UPDATE: We discovered more information earlier this week at Bandit's vet visit. He has a collasped trachea. It also looks like he may have suffered some nerve damage & his spine is slightly luxated to the side a bit. This could possibly be from the impact of being thrown. He doesn't seem to be in any pain or discomfort & does get around very well. Just has a "wiggle in his walk." We also had his lump checked which unfortunately turned out to be a mass cell tumor. We have surgery scheduled for next Friday to have it removed. We are accepting donations for his surgery at this time. The estimate is approx. $500-$600 for the surgery itself, plus any additional vet care. He is just the sweetest senior citizen. All he wants to do is cuddle & give tons of kisses. What a wonderful little fellow. 6/17/08 UPDATE: Bandit had his mass cell tumor removed and is doing very well. We'd like to thank Dr. Steven Smolen and the staff at Duncan Manor Animal for the wonderful care they gave him. We'll be keeping a close eye on Bandit for a little while until he's ready for adoption. We are still collecting donations to help with Bandit's medical expenses. Thank you to everyone who has donated to help give this little guy a second chance. 7/28/08 UPDATE: Bandit is still with us and ready for adoption. He is doing very well. Within the past week he has started running right along side the other pugs. He's been making great improvement. Below are photos of Bandit running and playing with the other pugs at our Pug Hawaiian Luau Fundraiser. 1/29/09 UPDATE: Bandit is still waiting for his forever home but is doing well. We're also happy to report Bandit's hearing loss seems to have been a temporary condition due to ear medication he was on at the time. He has come a long way since he arrived. He's such a sweetheart and what a happy little pug. 7/24/09 Bandit has developed another mass cell tumor this time on his chest. We will be having this removed next week and will post the results once known. Esitmated surgery costs $600 - $700. We are collecting donations at this time for his surgery expenses. Bandit was placed back on medical hold today due to these recent developments. 8/25/09 Results are in. Mass Cell Tumor, Grade 1. They believe the tumor was removed all ilntact. No further treatment at this time. Bandit will be removed from his medical hold status. |
